B# User Interface
The B# User Interface is based on several components that mobile phone users will be very familiar with. The screenshot below shows most of the main features:-
Home: Add your stocks using the Yahoo Finance ticker format using the ADD button. These will be saved for future use. Use the individual DELETE buttons to remove unwanted stocks from your list. The [GO B#] button starts the calculations. A red progress bar will let you know how long to wait for your results.
Results: Lists key virtual trader information including its last trading action, the timing of that action, the P/L of the most profitable optimized PSAR scenario, the simple buy and hold P/L as a comparison to the calculation etc.
Results also show the Extreme Point (a local high or low defined by the PSAR algorithm), and the latest PSAR value. These along with the 50 and 200 day moving averages, the RSI and MACD are key stock price levels/parameters to watch when considering a real life trade.
Please also look at the % of profitable Buys and Sells made by the virtual trader as these should provide a level of confidence (or otherwise) as to the applicability of this B# algorithm’s to trading your stock.
MagicEye: Candlestick prices, PSAR curves, 50 and 200 day moving averages as well as relevant Fibonacci lines are plotted together in a zoomed-in view of the year’s data. The view and the Fibs have been calibrated to the last four trades (two Buy/Sell pairs). The [MagicEye] screen is “pinch-zoomable” and tapping on a point should show the underlying price point.
Chart: This is the full year’s data in Candlestick format with the relevant PSAR curves, the virtual trader’s Buys/Sells and the 50 and 200 day moving averages. If there are data source errors, the Chart will show these anomalies directly. The [Chart] screen is also “pinch-zoomable” and tapping on a point should show the underlying price point.
ScoreCard: Each Buy/Sell virtual trade is listed here. If you wish to find out more about a particular transaction, click on the [INFO] button to see more details.
Help: This is a summary version of more detailed help that is available on this site.
Legal: Please read this section in full. It is important and it details an agreement between you, the user, and PenpointSoftware.
Account: This screen lists key phone and license ID data that B# uses to determine your license period validity. Once your one year license period has come to an end, B# will revert to running ^GSPC only as per the DEMO. You will need to uninstall B# and re-purchase the latest version from either Google Play or the Apple App Store.
FAB: The semi-transparent floating button on the bottom right of all the screens will take you to the Yahoo Finance webpage of the stock selected on the Home screen.
Menu and Sub-Menu: The ellipsis on the top right hand corner of the screen lists short-cuts to several informative websites.
ProgressBar: In order to track the progress of caluculations, B# will show progress via a horizontal bar at the top of the HOME screen.
